Risingstar® FA 47 ripens 5 days before Redhaven (-5) with bright orange-red color. It averages 2 1/2” in size and will benefit from early, heavy thin-ning. It has excellent flavor and is semi-freestone with few split pits. Ris-ingstar is very bud hardy with a vigorous tree. It is Bacterial Spot and Canker resistant.
The Fruit Acres Stellar Peach breeding program was begun in 1982 by Jim Friday of Coloma, MI. The program has been continued by Jim’s daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Randy Bjorge.
