Brightstar® is a 60 to 80% bright red peach with a very attractive, bright yellow/orange ground color ripening 12 days before Redhaven. For the season, the fruit sizes well and averages 2-1/2” and larger. The flesh is yellow and melting, clinging when firm-ripe, and semi-free when ripe. The shape is round with no tip, has very little fuzz, and very few split pits.
The tree is vigorous and sets heavy crops. Brightstar® has made a real splash in the early market in New York City. Its bright color, size, and exceptional flavor make it a real standout in the early season.
